Make Landscaping More Fun

How many people are really into working on there lawn? Not many. I am talking about cutting the grass, edging, planting flowers or shrubs, plugging in holes with dirt, regular maintenance on your lawn, etc. What a pain in the butt! I just sweat even thinking about it. Wouldn't you rather just pay someone do that work for you? How about living in an apartment or Condo? Well, I live in a home. For those of you who live in an apartment or condominium doesn't really have to do that chore? Then again you have to deal with everyone else living so close together and dealing with all the other headaches that go along with apartments or Condos.

Well, actually I am one that likes to do the chore? Do I crave going out into the hot sun and working on the lawn? No. I do however like the fact that when someone comes to your house I can guarantee you are happy to show them around on what you did to the home. I can't tell you how many people say "Look at what I planted in my garden" or look at what landscaping project that I've just done or look at my new deck, etc.

The first thing that anyone (including yourself) does when they come to your home is look at the outside. They have to. This is the first thing you see when you arrive from work or errands you just ran. Plus, doesn't it always seem that as soon as you cut your grass everyone else does as well (especially the neighbor right next to you). If you cut your grass it makes their grass look long (makes sense to me). Then they almost have to do it just because the grass now looks like crap.

How many times do you put something off like yard work but once completed you are really happy about it. Then you start staring at your new cut grass and it actually makes you feel good. Sort of like cleaning your car. As junkie as it make look on the inside, once you actually clean it out and vacuum the car, how many times does it seem for the next couple days you are making a conscience effort to keep it that way? Any dust particle you see in the car you start wiping it away with your finger or blowing it off. Of course this may last for just a couple days but hey it's clean.

My point is even though it is a chore you are happy once you completed it. It is done and it looks good. Same thing with working out or doing dishes or a simple cleaning the windows, you know it's done. Even though you hate it at first you know there is complete satisfaction once it is completed. Can't complain about that!
